Mar de Frades Atlantico Albarino Spain White Wine

Spain grows wine from wet Atlantic country, across high inland plateaus, down to Mediterranean coasts and out to the islands. The word Spain on a label fixes very little by itself: no one grape, no one climate, no one rule. Mar de Frades narrows it down. The producer says this Albariño comes from selected estate vineyards and from independent growers in Val do Salnes. We do not have a shopper rating for this wine.

The grape narrows it further. Our grape research ties Albariño most closely to northwestern Spain and northern Portugal: an aromatic white grape that usually makes a dry wine with a light to medium body. Official guides describe citrus, stone fruit and floral aromas with lively acidity, and they add that climate and time resting on spent yeast can give the wine more weight while it often keeps its freshness.
