Our take

What we make of this bottle

Portlandia says its Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown in Oregon, one strand of the brand's focus on the Pacific Northwest. For a sense of the style, the grape is the guide. Pinot Noir is a red grape with relatively thin skins, and regional category guides describe red cherry, berry and plum, placing it lighter in color and lower in tannin than Cabernet Sauvignon; those guides add that site and ripeness can push it toward the bright and delicate or the dark and full.

The firmest thing on hand is what it cost across eight stores in our September 2026 checks, ranging from $20.99 to $31.99.

Category guide

What to expect in the glass

Regional category guides commonly describe red cherry, berry and plum, with lighter color and less tannin than Cabernet Sauvignon. Site and ripeness can shift it from bright and delicate to darker and fuller.
