What we make of this bottle
Petite Sirah sounds like a small Syrah, but it is really the American name for a grape called Durif, a different variety, even if Syrah is one of its parents. Nothing about it is petite. Wine Australia's variety guide describes deeply colored wines with dark fruit, spice, full body and firm tannin, and notes that blending or bottle age can soften that grip. Our September 2026 checks found it from $10.99 to $14.99, which puts the low end among the least expensive reds we cover.
The maker is a family operation: Bogle says it planted its first wine grapes in 1968 and released its first wine under the family name in 1978.
