How grapes grow here
Atlantic influence is strong in parts of the north and coast, while inland and southern regions can be warmer and drier. Portugal alone does not tell us which setting supplied a wine.
What lies under the vines
Granite, schist, limestone, sand and clay appear in different Portuguese wine regions. A country label cannot assign one of those soil settings to a bottle.
