Bordeaux is a wine region and also the name of a protected appellation. Bordeaux Supérieur and Crémant de Bordeaux are separate protected designations, so the complete label must remain attached to the wine.
How grapes grow here
Atlantic weather and the region's rivers influence Bordeaux, but local exposure and distance from the water vary. A broad Bordeaux name does not supply the climate detail of a smaller appellation.
