What we make of this bottle
$9.99 was the least asked for this rosé in our September 2026 checks, and $14.99 was the most. The low end of that range places it among the least expensive rosés we follow.
That range came from six stores checked on August 10 and 11, 2026. The lowest asked $9.99 for the bottle and the highest asked $14.99. Same bottle, same week, a different price depending on the store.
By August 12, 2026, 36 shoppers had rated it. That tally sits in the upper stretch of the 483 wines carrying ratings in our coverage. Their average is 4.28 out of five. Our research names no grape for the wine; the brand, the rosé style, and a verified California origin make up its identity.
The producer's side is brief and comes from the company itself. Gallo publishes the roster of brands it owns, and we checked this one against it. The company's answer is a single line: Dark Horse belongs on Gallo's list of wine brands.
Dark Horse's own page for this wine adds detail our record did not have: subtle grapefruit aromas lead into wild strawberry, sliced watermelon and ripe peach flavors, with a crisp, mineral-edged finish. The producer credits an extended, cool 2023 growing season for what it calls exceptional ripeness and balance. Winemaking notes describe fruit picked in the cool morning and evening hours, fermentation controlled between 55 and 62 degrees, and aging in stainless steel tanks. The producer's own awards page, which lists the current Dark Horse lineup by name and marks several reds and whites with a Wine Enthusiast score, carries the 2023 Rosé without one.
Our call: the case here is price and crowd, and both are real; it stands among the least expensive rosés we track, with one of the larger rating pools in our coverage behind it, which suits a shopper buying pink for a group on a budget. Pass if the average decides for you, because that average falls below the middle of the rated wines we cover, and the grapes behind the blend go unstated.
