What we make of this bottle
Chardonnay is one word doing more than one job. Grape guides describe it as a white grape built two ways, the lighter version raised away from oak, the weightier version fermented and aged inside it, and they add that oak and contact with the spent yeast can bring in toast and spice and round out the texture, though those are choices a winemaker makes rather than a promise. We do not have a shopper rating for this wine.
O'Neill Vintners & Distillers lists Line 39 among its national brands. Across the four stores we checked in September 2026 it ranged from $8.99 to $15.99. The grape guides tie citrus and apple to cooler examples and stone or tropical fruit to riper ones, a pattern the name alone does not settle.
