What we make of this bottle
Primarius leans on origin: it says the grapes are grown across Oregon vineyards, drawing on sites in the Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge and Yamhill-Carlton AVAs, which name where the fruit grew rather than how the wine tastes. For that, the grape carries more weight. Pinot Noir is a thin-skinned red, and regional category guides tie it to red cherry, berry and plum while calling it lighter in color and lower in tannin than Cabernet Sauvignon.
