What we make of this bottle
Set the marketing aside for a moment. 4 ratings put it at 3.75, which drops it into the bottom band of everything we rate, and who actually makes it under the Rue De Perle name is something we have not been able to confirm. What the name states plainly is the grape: Chenin Blanc.
Chenin Blanc carries naturally high acidity, and an official category guide points to apple, quince and a note of honey across its range, which runs from bone dry to sweet. That range is the catch, because the same grape can fill a glass with almost no sugar or with plenty, and the brand name alone will not tell you which. Across our September 2026 checks the shelf price sat between $15.99 and $19.88. The one thing to check before it leaves the shelf is the sweetness: does this label commit to dry, off-dry, or sweet?
