In our September 2026 checks, what this California rosé cost depended on which store was selling it, and the lowest shelf figure we saw was $11.99. The crowd side of the story is short: the number of shoppers who have scored it on the store listing stands at 1, and the score showing there is 3 out of five, a first impression, not a settled reputation.

The winery supplies the fullest account. STEL+MAR says it is family run and majority owned by women, and that the fruit for its California wines comes from sustainably farmed vineyards on the Central Coast and the North Coast. The rosé itself comes in a 750 ml bottle. The most we saw it listed at in those September 2026 checks was $28.99.

STEL+MAR's own product page fills in the blend behind the color: 34 percent Barbera, 33 percent Syrah and 33 percent Petite Sirah, finished at 12.7 percent alcohol. The producer ferments it in the same redwood tanks it uses for its reds and ages it six months in American oak, describing the result as “playful, dry, and perfect for relaxed afternoons,” its own words, and backing the claim with a number: the tech sheet reports “Just 1g sugar.” Winemaker Phil Zorn, who built the Waterstone brand before starting STEL+MAR, sources the fruit from the winery's Sonoma and Lodi vineyards. Two industry names have weighed in beyond the winery's own account: Wine Spectator listed the bottle among its “Label to Watch” picks, and Wine Enthusiast named it a “Best Buy.”

Our call: this suits a shopper drawn to a stated blend and a producer that backs its own claims; STEL+MAR names the exact grape mix, states the winemaking, and points to a low sugar reading behind its “dry” description, and two industry outlets have flagged the bottle on their own. Pass if you weigh a crowd of shoppers over a producer's account; the single rating on our record is one shopper's impression, not a track record.
