What does the word Cabernet really tell a shopper? A fair amount about the grape, and nothing yet about this bottle. Cabernet Sauvignon is a red grape planted across many wine regions, and regional authorities say it tends to build firm, sturdy reds and often joins other grapes in a blend.

For flavor, regional authorities point to black currant, cherry, and plum as the fruits most often named in Cabernet, alongside noticeable tannin and, when oak plays a part, a possible note of spice. They add that ripeness, climate, and cellar choices can carry a Cabernet toward a lean, herbal style or a riper, fruit-forward one. The wine gives its origin as California, and Corks + Cheers lists Storyteller, together with a wine called The Recipient, in its portfolio. Who actually makes it is not something we can confirm.
