Storyteller Zinfandel names California as its origin, and Corks + Cheers lists the Storyteller brand in its wine portfolio, which also includes a brand called The Recipient. The grape is Zinfandel.
Wine guides describe Zinfandel as a red with a long history in California, one that can also become the pink wine sold as White Zinfandel or go into a blend. For the red, regional authorities point to ripe berry and plum fruit with spice, and a fuller body when the grapes ripen further.
