Banshee Brut Ten Of Cups Sparkling California Wine

When the shelf tag just says sparkling wine, what is actually in the bottle here? In this case, a sparkling wine made in California. Foley Family Wines says the Banshee label started in 2010 and later became part of Foley Family Wines. Across the six stores we checked in September 2026, the lowest price we found was $13.99.

The same sparkling did not carry one price across those stores. In those September 2026 checks, another store listed it at $25.99.

Banshee's own account of Ten of Cups states a 12 percent alcohol level and describes the wine as handcrafted “using the traditional méthode champenoise,” the producer's term for the classic Champagne-style second fermentation inside the bottle. The producer's tasting notes call it “vibrant, bright and aromatic with notes of tropical fruit, green apple and citrus complemented by marzipan and honeysuckle,” finishing “creamy” with “hints of toast,” the producer's words. What Banshee does not publish anywhere on its site is the grape composition behind that style; the blend stays undisclosed. The founding date also comes with a wrinkle: Foley Family Wines' account puts the Banshee label's start in 2010, while Banshee's own about page dates the company to 2009, when it launched at a San Francisco bar in the Dogpatch neighborhood with eight barrels of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, before later moving to Healdsburg and, in 2023, to its own winery in Alexander Valley.

Our call: a fair choice for the traditional method and the tasting notes on Banshee's own page, if a grape breakdown is not what decides it for you. Pass if the blend behind the bubbles matters; Banshee has not disclosed it anywhere on its site, and no shopper rating has reached our record either.
