Say you want a sparkling wine in the house for the next time there is something to toast. Gloria Ferrer says its winery was started by José and Gloria Ferrer, who began planting in Carneros in the early 1980s, and the winery building opened in 1986 in Sonoma, California.

The name does not spell out which grape or grapes go into it. We do not have a shopper rating for this wine. In our September 2026 checks, the price came to $17.99.

The shelf calls this bottle “Champagne,” but that word legally belongs to one region of France, and the producer's own account describes something else: a Carneros-grown sparkling wine made in the traditional method, the same production process the Champagne region uses. Gloria Ferrer says its founders left Barcelona in the early 1980s specifically to bring that method to California, and a companion 375 mL bottling of this same Sonoma Brut states plainly that “Pinot Noir takes the spotlight” in the blend. The winery also says its Carneros estate spans 338 acres across two ranches, is farmed under California Certified Organic Farmers certification, and is planted with 17 variations of Pinot Noir and 4 of Chardonnay developed through a 25 year research partnership with UC Davis. None of that is specific to this 750 mL bottling on its own; the producer's technical sheet for this size, including any blend percentage or the time the wine spent on the spent yeast, could not be reached because that part of the page loads through JavaScript this research could not capture.
