Brut and Grand Reserve: those we can only repeat as written, because we have no grape name for this bottle and have not yet confirmed anything about Cook's the producer.

Cook's own history page traces the brand to 1859 and founder Isaac Cook, credited there with creating the first American sparkling wine brand to gain national recognition; the same page states that Cook's remains one of the few American sparkling wines still permitted to use the word Champagne, under a grandfathered exception in U.S. wine law, and that production is based in Ripon, California. For this Grand Reserve bottling specifically, the producer's page lists 11.5 percent alcohol, calls the wine brut, the dry end of the sweetness scale, and describes it in its own words as "toasty and balanced" with "a touch of brandy" and "pleasant apple and vanilla flavors."
