What we make of this bottle
Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same white grape under two names, and the word a producer picks usually points to a style rather than a different fruit. For this grape, official guides describe pear, apple and stone fruit, in wines that run from dry to gently off-dry. Those guides describe the grape in general, not a taste we can promise for this particular bottle. We do not have a shopper rating for it yet, so there is no shopper score to weigh here.
The company behind it, Bread & Butter Wines, calls 3105 Silverado Trail in Napa, California home, with its tasting room at the same address, though this bottle's stated origin is the state of California. The name itself points to the brand and the grape; the Napa home comes from the producer and the California origin from the bottle's stated region. Across our September 2026 checks the price landed anywhere from $10.99 to $20.99.
Bread & Butter's page for the 2021 California Pinot Grigio lists 12.5 percent alcohol, on the lighter end for a dry white, and describes the wine, in its own words, as 'crisp, shining, and pretty,' with white floral notes and 'elegant and ripe stone fruits' integrating with fresh citrus. At the time of our capture the producer's site listed the wine as sold out online but still available in stores. Winemaker Linda Trotta, credited on the brand's site as a UC Davis-trained veteran of more than 30 years across four continents, oversees the Pinot Grigio within Bread & Butter's Everyday Wines collection.
Our call: this suits a shopper who wants a clearly described, producer-named Pinot Grigio at a light 12.5 percent alcohol and is comfortable buying without a shopper rating to lean on. Pass if you want the producer's page to describe the exact bottle in hand; the site still presents the 2021 bottling, which may trail the vintage on shelf, and no shopper rating has reached our record to weigh in its place.
