Sauvignon Blanc is the grape on this label, and our grape research describes it as a white variety known for a clear, aromatic character and lively acidity, usually made dry, though sweetness and oak use vary. Grounded Wine Co.'s own account names who is behind the label: winemaker Josh Phelps grew up in a Napa winemaking family and worked harvests alongside his father, Chris Phelps, also a winemaker, before starting this brand on his own. For the 2024 vintage, the producer's technical sheet confirms the wine is 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc at 13 percent alcohol, picked about two weeks earlier than usual after a light crop, then fermented cold in stainless steel tanks to protect the natural acidity. The producer's own tasting notes describe white peach, lime and Meyer lemon zest, with what the winemaker calls “natural tension” carrying through the finish.
