Hampton Water Languedoc France Rose Wine

It is a rose, and the Languedoc names where it comes from, a broad wine region in the south of France. On a label that one word can mean the wide region or the smaller regional appellation held within it, so the origin by itself does not fix a single protected place.

Official regional guides describe the Languedoc as a place where Mediterranean weather reaches widely, while distance from the sea and the higher inland country shift the temperature, wind and rainfall from one part of it to the next.

Hampton Water's own account gets specific: the blend is 60 percent Grenache, 15 percent Cinsault, 15 percent Mourvedre and 10 percent Syrah. The finished wine lists 13 percent alcohol and 0.6 grams per litre of residual sugar, which in plain terms is a bone-dry style. The producer credits new French oak barrels, where the wine ages, for the long finish behind the strawberry and citrus notes in its own tasting description. The project is a family venture: Jon Bon Jovi and his son Jesse Bongiovi partnered with French winemaker Gerard Bertrand to make it, launching in 2018, and the producer's account cites recognition from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Decanter between 2022 and 2025.

Our call: buy it on the producer's specifics as much as the early score. Hampton Water publishes its blend down to the percentage, its alcohol level, and the new French oak behind the strawberry and citrus profile, and the ratings on record so far are perfect, though still too few to call a track record. Pass if you want a narrower origin than the label offers; Languedoc names the broad southern French region here, not a smaller protected appellation, so the place stays general even as the winemaking account does not.
