What we make of this bottle
Provence runs across the sunny southeast of France, and our region research describes a Mediterranean stretch of dry summers, its exposed vineyards cooled at times by the Mistral wind, worked from the coastline up into inland hills and higher ground.
We looked for a wine named "La Croix" across Peyrassol's own current lineup and found none: the estate's site lists 1204, Clos Peyrassol, Château Peyrassol, XIIIe, Les Commandeurs and #Lou, each in rosé, white or red versions, with nothing carrying that name. The closest match by style and organic status is the estate's Château Peyrassol Rosé, a certified organic Côtes de Provence blend, but we cannot confirm that bottle and this one are the same wine, so we have not carried its specific grape percentages or tasting notes into this record.
Peyrassol says its Provence estate has had a single owner, Philippe Austruy, since 2001. What we cannot confirm is the grape or grapes that go into the bottle.
