What we make of this bottle
For the shopper who has already settled on pink, this bottle, whose 4 raters so far have marked it 4.75 out of five, puts a New Zealand origin on the table. Those are early numbers. The origin is worth a minute: none of New Zealand's vineyards lies much more than 130 kilometres from the ocean, so sea weather reaches every one of its growing regions. Where mountains rise inland, they catch the incoming rain and leave their eastern sides dry, and several of the country's major growing areas sit in exactly those dry eastern pockets. In our August 2026 checks, prices started at $16.99.
Rose is the style its name declares, though neither the grape or grapes behind it nor any producer detail has been confirmed yet. The origin is recorded at the country level; Marlborough, Hawke's Bay and Central Otago are among the narrower regional names New Zealand registers, and this wine is not tied to any of them. If what you want is a pink wine grown in sea-moderated vineyards, New Zealand as the origin is a straightforward match. The most any store charged for it in our August 2026 checks was $19.88.
