What we make of this bottle
Zinopolis reads like the name of a city, and if that city existed it would be in California, where Zinfandel has had a long history by our grape research. The same grape turns up three ways: as red wine, as the pink wine sold as White Zinfandel, and as one part of a blend. This bottle is the first kind. One grape, three wines.
Regional authorities describe the red version's fruit as ripe berry and plum with spice, and say the body often turns fuller when the grapes come in riper. The same authorities note that vineyard age, harvest timing and alcohol can move the result a long way, and since we do not have a shopper rating for this wine, that described range is the closest thing to a preview.
Corks + Cheers, one shop that carries this wine, calls it a California Zinfandel and names Juan Cerna as the winemaker. Beyond that shop's word, the wine's origin is not something we have confirmed. In our August 2026 checks the shelf price sat between $13.88 and $15.88, with the low end falling in the cheaper half of the red wines we price.
