What we make of this bottle
The name points to Tuscany, and our regional research is careful about what that does and does not settle. A Tuscan, or Toscana, origin stretches across coastal plains, inland hills and higher mountain edges. So it says more than "Italy" alone. Even so, it stops short of an exact designation such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino or Toscana IGT. Tuscany is an administrative and wine region, that research adds, not one protected name, and its DOCG, DOC and IGP titles each carry a narrower legal meaning of their own.
