Our take

What we make of this bottle

The first thing to notice about this name is what it leaves out: no grape. Cortelunga Tuscan White Italian Wine names a brand, a color and a place, and the grape or grapes behind the color are not something we can confirm. We do not have a shopper rating for this wine.

The nearest account of the wine itself comes from Corks + Cheers, a wine shop, which calls Cortelunga Bianco a Tuscany IGT wine and names Mike Collier as the winemaker. Corks + Cheers is a shop, not the producer, so those details are the shop's description. Still, a named winemaker is more than the shelf name gives.

Tuscany, at least, is confirmed. It runs from flat coastland by the sea up through inland hills to the edge of the mountains, and no single climate note fits all of it: the Mediterranean's warmth counts for most near the Tyrrhenian coast, while the farther inland or uphill a vineyard sits, the cooler it runs and the wider its temperature swings. Tuscany is a region of Italy in both the administrative and the wine sense, not itself a protected designation; the exact names with legal weight, such as Chianti, Toscana IGT or Brunello di Montalcino, are narrower. Tuscan, in this wine's name, is the region-wide word; the shop's Tuscany IGT is the narrower kind.

The bottle is 750 ml. In our August 2026 checks the shelf price was $13.88.

Research status

What we are still checking

Our overview above draws on the dated store feed, shopper ratings, our region and grape research, and any sourced producer facts. We are still working to confirm the current release, the full producer record, and the bottle itself, and we update this page as we learn more.

Region guideTuscany

A little background helps this bottle make sense.

Getting to know Tuscany.

A Tuscany or Toscana origin covers coastal plains, inland hills and mountain edges. It gives more detail than Italy alone, but it cannot replace an exact designation such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino or Toscana IGT.

The place

What the name means

Tuscany is an Italian administrative and wine region, not one protected designation. Its DOCG, DOC and IGP names have narrower legal meanings and must remain distinct.

Weather

How grapes grow here

Mediterranean influence is stronger near the Tyrrhenian coast, while elevation and distance inland bring cooler conditions and larger temperature changes. One Tuscan climate description does not fit every vineyard.

Soil

What lies under the vines

Clay, limestone, marine sediment, sand, alluvium and localized volcanic material occur across Tuscany. The regional name does not establish one soil profile.

How large the region is

Origin hierarchy
Regione Toscana maintains separate lists and controls for the region's DOCG, DOC and IGP wines.
Mapping limit
Use this record only when the description supports Tuscany but not a registered Tuscan designation with a more specific record.

Places within the region

Central hills
Chianti and Montalcino are distinct protected wine areas within Tuscany and should resolve to their own records.
Coast and inland
The Tuscan coast and interior differ in maritime influence, elevation and landscape, with many separate DOC, DOCG and IGP names.
