E. Guigal says it was founded in 1946 in Ampuis, France, in the Rhône Valley, and that Côte-Rôtie is among the appellations it produces.

The Rhône links northern hillside vineyards with a much larger southern landscape. A Rhône Valley reference gives regional context, but the exact appellation still matters for grapes, place and production rules.

Northern and southern parts of the valley do not share one climate. The south has stronger Mediterranean and Mistral influence, while the long river corridor and surrounding landforms create local differences throughout the region.
