In our September 2026 checks, this bottle held a regular price of $24.99. It comes from France's Rhone Valley, which our region guide describes as a broad wine region holding many protected appellations, each with its own boundaries and rules. Cotes du Rhone is one of those names; Cotes du Rhone Villages and the named crus fall under different ones.
Maison Vidal-Fleury says it was founded in 1781 in the Rhone Valley and calls itself the oldest wine house in the region. We do not have a shopper rating for this wine. The guide adds that the appellation, not the valley as a whole, sets which grapes may go into a bottle, and it names no grape for Cotes du Rhone, so the grape or grapes in this red stay unconfirmed.
Vidal-Fleury's own vineyard page describes the grapes it uses for its southern Rhone reds as “the founding association of southern wines, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre,” language that covers this appellation, though it is a general statement about the house's practice rather than a confirmed blend for this specific bottle.
