What we make of this bottle
In our September 2026 checks, the price was $16.88. The wine gives its origin as Côtes du Rhône Villages, in France's Rhône Valley; its importer, Corks & Cheers, names two different people as the wine's maker across its own pages, a product page credits winemaker Mike Collier, while a separate editorial article from the same importer credits Kurt Lorenzi, its VP of Winemaking and Sourcing, and we have not been able to resolve the conflict. The Rhône is a broad French region rather than a single place. It runs from northern hillside vineyards down into a much larger southern landscape, and it holds many protected appellations. Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages, and the named crus each carry their own boundaries and rules, and the north and south do not share one climate, which is why the exact appellation matters more than the broad word Rhône.
The crowd that has weighed in is small, so its scores show a few opinions and not a track record. On a five-point shopper scale, 2 ratings put it at 5.
Corks & Cheers publishes tasting notes for the wine across two of its own pages, and the language differs between them: the product page describes “delicious red berries aromas that give way to elegant and bright flavors of plums and tropical fruits” with a medium-full body and dry finish, while a separate editorial piece quotes Kurt Lorenzi describing plum and white pepper on both nose and palate with what he calls a supple, smooth finish, adding “one sip of it and you can't put it down”, his words, not ours. Both pages recommend the wine with grilled and roasted meats; the editorial specifically suggests barbecue and burgers.
Our call: reasonable for a shopper who wants a straightforward Côtes du Rhône Villages red at this price and does not need the winemaking credit pinned down; the importer's own tasting notes, however they are attributed, describe a plum-and-spice style that is typical for the appellation. Pass if a confirmed, single winemaking credit matters to you, or if you weigh the crowd heavily; the importer names two different people as the wine's maker without resolving which is accurate, and 2 ratings are a start, not a track record.

How grapes grow here
