What we make of this bottle
The price is the plainest fact here; the rest asks for a second look. Honig Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc names the grape and the valley, and the producer's own account now fills in some of the making: Honig Vineyard & Winery is a family operation in Rutherford, founded when Louis Honig planted the ranch's first vines in 1964. Official regional guides call Sauvignon Blanc a white grape valued for its bright scent and lively acidity, most often turned into a dry, still wine, though the sweetness and oak use vary. Those same guides place citrus, green herbs and tropical fruit across the grape, leaning green in cooler spots and toward tropical where it grows warmer.
The wine has been rated 5 out of five by 2 shoppers, and it comes from Napa Valley. Official regional guides are quick to add how much ground that name covers. Napa Valley is about thirty miles end to end. Its valley floor, hill slopes and mountain sites differ sharply. The valley marks the origin, but it does not narrow it to one spot. In our September 2026 checks it was listed from $20.99 to $25.99.
Honig's page for its 2024 release lists the wine as 99 percent Sauvignon Blanc and 1 percent Semillon. The finished wine lists 13.9 percent alcohol. The winery's own tasting notes describe orange blossom and jasmine alongside white peach, Meyer lemon and grapefruit, with what it calls richness on the mid-palate against a bright, crisp finish, 'the classic Honig style,' in its own phrase. Michael Honig took over the winery in 1984, at age 22, the family's account says, and an all-female winemaking team now leads production; the operation holds California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance and Fish Friendly Farming certifications.
Our call: buy it for the family account behind the label. Honig has grown Sauvignon Blanc in Rutherford since 1964, and its own technical sheet gives the exact blend, 99 percent Sauvignon Blanc to 1 percent Semillon, and a finished alcohol level the shelf listing does not carry on its own. Pass if you want that detail matched by shopper consensus; the rating pool behind this wine is still thin, so the family's own account is doing most of the work.

Napa Valley has been a federally recognized American Viticultural Area since 1981. Seventeen smaller AVAs now sit within its boundary.
How grapes grow here
The valley has a dry Mediterranean climate. San Pablo Bay cools the south, summer afternoons grow warmer toward the north, and fog lowers overnight temperatures across much of the valley.
