What will Sauvignon Blanc bring to the table? Guides that describe the grape call it a white with clear aroma and lively acidity, usually made dry, and they point to citrus, green herbs, gooseberry and tropical fruit as its common flavors; cooler vineyards lean toward green and citrus, they add, while riper warm-climate fruit turns more tropical. This bottle comes from California, priced from $19.99 to $27.49 across the stores we checked in September 2026, and Mason Cellars says its founder and winemaker, Randy Mason, started the winery in Napa Valley in 1993.

Mason Cellars' own product page attributes a tasting note to itself: on the nose “grapefruit, floral and honeysuckle”, on the palate “grapefruit and minerality”, with what the producer calls an “extraordinary mouthfeel and texture” and a long, bright finish, the producer's words. The same page states the wine earned a 92-point score from Wine Spectator. Mason Cellars describes itself on its about page as “a proud Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc pioneer”, crediting Randy Mason with a minimalist winemaking approach that lets each vineyard's character lead, and saying the wines are made, in the winery's words, “to be shared.”

Our call: reach for this if a producer-cited critic score and a long-standing winemaker's account are enough on their own; Mason Cellars states a 92-point Wine Spectator score, and Randy Mason has run this label as what the winery calls a Napa Sauvignon Blanc pioneer since 1993. Pass if you want that score confirmed outside the producer's own page, or a shopper record behind it; neither has reached us yet.
