Roserock Pinot Noir

Price is the first thing to weigh with this Roserock Pinot Noir. We do not have a shopper rating for it, though the wines that carry scores hold a 4.71 median.

As for the grape, Pinot Noir is a red with relatively thin skins, and regional category guides link it to red cherry, berry and plum while calling it lighter in color and lower in tannin than Cabernet Sauvignon. The guides add that the site and the ripeness of the fruit can shift it from light and lively to deeper and fuller.

Roserock says its vineyard, bought in 2013 in Oregon's Willamette Valley, is owned and farmed by Domaine Drouhin Oregon. How this particular wine was made is not something we can confirm.

Whether it earns a place in the basket depends on the night, and in our September 2026 checks the price fell between $59.99 and $59.99.

Roserock's own site describes exactly how this wine is made, filling in the gap noted above: fruit for this Pinot Noir comes from 35 separate blocks across the vineyard's 111 planted acres of the grape, each picked, sorted and fermented on its own before blending, with winemaker Veronique Drouhin aiming for an “elegant and refined” style rather than the fuller power some Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir is known for. The vineyard sits in the Eola-Amity Hills, roughly 25 miles south of Domaine Drouhin Oregon, where wind funneled through a break in the Coast Range, called the Van Duzer Corridor, runs the site more than ten degrees cooler than northern Willamette Valley vineyards. The soil is volcanic basalt, shallow and well-drained, laid down by ancient lava flows, and the estate has carried LIVE certification for sustainable farming since the Drouhin family bought it in 2013. The producer does not publish an alcohol level or a bottling-specific tasting note for this wine.

Our call: worth it if provenance is what you buy on; the Drouhin family's own account of block-by-block picking and fermenting across 35 sections of a vineyard they have LIVE-certified since 2013 is a real, specific story, rarer than most producer copy at this shelf position. Pass if you want the crowd's confirmation or a stated alcohol level before spending at this level; no shopper rating has reached our record, and Roserock does not publish those technical basics for this bottling.
