What we make of this bottle

Our August 2026 checks found this bottle for as little as $9.99, and that puts it near the cheap end of the reds we track. It is a red blend from Australia, sold in a 750 ml bottle under the 19 Crimes label.

Australia on a wine label names a country, not a district. Growing areas inside that country run from cool sites near the coast or up in the hills to warm districts far inland, so the one word does not describe a single kind of season. Australia is itself a protected geographical indication for wine, and the same official register carries narrower names too, from whole states down to subregions. This label uses the widest name of all, the country.
